1963 - 1967 Bumper Nuts, Flat and Lock Washers

NOTE: I do not sell bumper bolts.

Take a look in any of the catalogs from the Corvette reproductions parts companies and look at their bumper hardware kits. Typically you will find that they offer only one (front or rear) hardware kit that is meant to service all C2 years. By looking in the Assembly Instruction Manuals (AIMs) for each C2 year, you will quickly see that the GM part numbers for a given lock washer or nut changed during the C2 era. It turns out those changes correspond to obvious changes in hardware dimensions and/or finishes. The catalog companies won’t tell you this because they have a vested interest in selling a one-size-fits-all kit that might be correct for one specific year, but not for others. The photo below shows how the bumper lock washers and nuts differ between 1963 and late 1967. Other C2 years differ from those in the photo.

If you have a 63-66 Corvette, and if the majority of the bumper nuts (but not the bolts) on your car take an 11/16" wrench or socket, then you have incorrect sized bumper nuts. With the exception of four nuts on the center front bumper brace, all other bumper nuts for 63-66 Corvette should take a 5/8" wrench, as shown on the left in the following photo.

I can supply you with a bumper nut and washer kit that current research indicates is accurate for your year. To provide you with the correct kit, I need to know the model year of your car and the month that your car was built. The cost per kit is $50, plus $11 for USPS Priority Mail shipping and insurance. This kit includes all lock washers, flat washers and nuts for front and rear bumpers and bumper braces. Once again, I do not sell bumper bolts, although I can suggest some sources for you if you’re interested in used, original bumper bolts.
